There goes the sun...

Television

American Idol - No surprise for where I stood on Wednesday. I knew the top three would be Bo and Carrie. I just didn't quite know who the third would be. I have a feeling it was a mystery all the way as far as who would go next. I thought many Anthony on a few occations, but was never sure. I am undecided on who will be the winner. I knew in past years pretty much, but this year I'm not sure. Maybe Bo because of his following. He is experienced and it shows on stage. Then Carrie has the advantage too because of the loyalty of her town in voting for her plus she is good. I don't know!

The Apprentice - The right woman won! Kendra should have won and did win which was right! I thought Tana just didn't show her stuff on the last task and could have done better with her team and on the task. She was too sure of herself and that never looks good. You can be sure of yourself without being a snot! Kendra I'm sure knew she was getting everything they needed done and so on, but she never stopped to bad mouth people or laze around. I think Tana didn't know how to manage her team. She has the ideas, but not the know-how to manage. Plus, as Kendra pointed out, Tana sells make-up. I think Kendra was the better person for the job because she's had the experience and knows how to lead. Way to go! On a side note, I'm so glad Bill is doing so well to get signed on for another year with Trump. Go to it, Bill!

Crossing Jordan - What was the ending about anyway?! What is up with Woody?! HOW could HE turn JORDAN away LIKE THAT?! OMGosh!!! I sat watching it wide eyed and opened mouthed! Is he going through some sort of I-hate-you-because-I-might-be-paralyzed thing? When he pulled his hand away and said to "get out," I just wanted to hit him! He's my favorite character, but come on! This is just wrong! And I think that was the finale too! What a way to leave us! Crossing Jordan got a jeer in TV Guide either this year or last year for leaving the fans wondering for so long after extending the season premier so long. They better not do that again! Knowing the writers they will pick up like nothing happened. I wonder where it will pick up, though.

Other Stuff

To be honest, there's not a whole lot going on on TV right now. I rented a movie this weekend and that was cool. I watched "And the Band Played On" which I've seen before and loved. I don't remember the beginnings of the AIDS crisis because I was too young, but I remember the movies and such and the ignorance. My uncle had AIDS and one of my aunts refused to go into their house or eat off their plates. When I hear people acting like that today, it just makes me sick because they should know by now the ways you can and can't get it. If you don't, that's just your own ignorance. It's been over 20 years and people should know by now. It shocks me whenever I think about the fact that this all happened within my own lifetime and I'm not that old. I'm sort of a conspiracy theorist about AIDS, so I won't extend this on to what I think started the disease. I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

A volunteer came from the church on Friday to fix our shower and hasn't come back yet. He took the whole shower apart and he even took the wall where the shower head is down, so it's just hanging there. We don't have a shower. He said he'd come tomorrow. I want a shower so bad! Yesterday I felt so gross I took a bath in the sink in the kitchen. More than you wanted to know, right. I really need to wash my hair again because it itches something terrible. I don't think I got all of the soap out. I have a job interview on Wednesday, so I have to get a shower by then.

I've started what is called an "Altered book." My aunt started one with her English class and it looked like fun, so I thought I'd do one too. It's not going like I'd hoped. I decided to do a book on my life from birth to now, but my life as a baby isn't that interesting, so I'm stuck. I don't know what else to do. I've put pictures of me as a baby in, but I don't know what to add for "journaling." it'll work out once I figure it out.

I'm going to add a "survey" of some kind here...let me find one.

1. Where were you when you heard that Ronald Reagan died?
I think I was at work when it happened. I probably saw it in the newspaper.

2. Where were you on September 11, 2001?
I was asleep when it happened, but woke up to find it on the news. I sat in bed and just watched what was going on unable to believe it.

3. Where were you when you heard that Princess Diana died?
I was busy with my summer job at Bi-Mart, so I'm not sure I actually heard about it except at home maybe on the news. I think I saw the pictures of the axcident.

4. Do you remember where you were when you heard Kurt Cobain had died?
I don't remember, but I was a Sophomore in High School.

5. Take one for The Gipper: What’s your favorite flavor of jelly bean?
Popcorn and caramel corn flavored...YUM!

6. Where were you when Magic Johnson announced he was retiring from the NBA due to AIDS?
I was in sixth grade when it happened. I think I saw it on the news when it was announced, but I don't really remember.

7. Where were you when Reagan was shot?
I don't know, I was three.

8. Where were you when the Challenger exploded?
I was in second grade, I think. I was sick that day and at my great-grandma's place. I remember watching it over and over on the news all morning.

9. Where were you when the OJ verdict was announced?
I was a Junior in high school and in first period Spanish class. We were allowed to watch it right before we left.

10. Where were you when the Berlin Wall fell?
Fifth grade. I still have the weekly reader from that week. It was very memorable.
