it's officially Christmastime! why?
(1) it is the latter half of December
(2) it is snowing and there is serious snow on the ground
(3) I am with most of my family
(4) the only thing really plaguing me is the need to wrap gifts
to be fair, flying around the country for Christmas this year is proving dicey. Mike and I were delayed a couple of hours in Salt Lake (no biggie, but somewhat annoying), my Aunt Pam had the pleasure of spending more like half a day in Salt Lake, Mike's 11:35am flight to Seattle today didn't leave until 1:20pm, and my Aunt Rebecca isn't able to get here until Christmas Day at night (like 9pm - she's coming from Maryland). I'm supposed to follow Mike to Seattle on the evening of the 26th, and given all the snow both here and in Seattle, I fully expect a delay of some sort.
regardless, we are enjoying the season! it didn't really feel like December down in San Diego, and it is definitively winter up here in Richland. Mike's stay was too short, but we have yet to come up with a good way to share each of our families' holiday traditions. we've have had to make a trip to the airport every day save one from the 21st through the 26th. (we arrive, Pam arrives, Mike leaves, Rebecca arrives, I leave.) then I think Pam and Rebecca leave on the 29th. nutsy.
Dad and I ventured off to see the old house today, which he recently sold. one word: WOW. it is being COMPLETELY gutted and redone by the new owners! crazy.
the Wii is still here, and I am continually amazed at how big a hit bowling is among everyone. Dad, Lynne, and Pam are playing as I type. my dad also likes golf, and I imagine if he had a Wii he would get quite good at it just like Mike's dad has. :)
anyway, I should go wrap some presents. and I promised Dad and Lynne I would get Norton off their computers and install AVG free instead. the evening we arrived we had to help set up their new flat panel TV and surround sound, but it's a super snazzy setup that makes the new stuff from Pam and the Houston house we recently received in San Diego seem old and unspiffy.
I'm rambling now. the end.
