textbooks.

I love it when my 2nd semester grad school texts are the same ones I used at HMC...

-> one section of the "BOB" (big orange book, Introduction to Astrophysics) pertaining to galaxies and cosmology
-> Galaxies in the Universe, the text for one of Prof. Choi's half courses (everyone in the class agreed the book sucked)
-> Introduction to Cosmology, the text for the other of Prof. Choi's half courses (rarely used because it kind of sucked too)

I'm not complaining about not having to spend money on books, but I thought I would be learning new material? also, thank you to Peter for trading me his 2nd ed. BOB for my 1st ed. BOB after taking Astro 62 for funsies our senior year. :)

while I'm rambling about books, I should mention that one of the "reference texts" for the other course I'll be taking next semester is a book called simply "Cataclysmic Variables" which I referenced extensively for my HMC senior thesis.

and now back to endlessly trying to put a poster together for the AAS meeting... being on campus the Saturday after finals week is depressing.
incidentally, finals and classes are over, and I'm flying to the good ol' Tri-Cities with Mike tomorrow. huzzah! winter, here I come!!
