I saw a great production of Much Ado About Nothing outdoors in Forest Park in St. Louis last night. It was actually done in a western period, which was a surprisingly effective vision for the show and was further improved upon by the animated cast.
The combination of the location, weather, art direction, general festivalness of it all and the quality acting really made for an entertaining night. It was the most fun I've ever had watching Shakespeare performed.
A friend is putting on Much Ado this summer as well. I wonder how his will look.
