#@^*! goes down...

Just read a quote about writing:

"Characters: we write what they do, they don't do what we write."

So. True.

I am back in Regina now.  I have one more final.  IDS.  My favourite class, but not the one I'm doing best in. Far from, actually.  Well, maybe not. I don't really know.  Point is, this exam has me quite terrified.  I am preparing essays like my life depends on it.  Time to study, study, study.  But all I want is to go home and sleeeeeeep. My mind's gonna 'splode.  Just one more day.  Just one more.

My exam this morning went well, I think.  I was talking to Patrick about abridged series and anime and my nande yanen socks (which amused him...a lot) and was quite hyper.  And my English prof was like "Isn't it a little early in the morning to be drunk already?" while she was handing out candy to the class.  She followed up the comment by remarking sarcastically that what I really needed was more sugar. Everyone got one candy, but when she got to me, she gave me four and looked amused and then walked away.  So I got extra candy for being amusingly hyper.  Then, as I left, she calls out "Bye, giggles!" and I turned and waved and then...she gave me more candy.  It was awesome.  I was amused.  So, apparently, was she. It was an enjoyable exam...I don't expect tomorrow to be that much fun.  At all.

'Lullaby' is a problem. That is to say, she is being a naughty child and distracting me.  I want to write, damnit! I have managed to resist thus far, but it is taking all my willpower. As much as I loved writing Fraydai's backstory, it was a long time to spend away from characters that I love a lot.  And, let's face it, 'Kyrid' and 'Garden Of' were rather depressing, and I'm excited to write something light hearted again.  Ya know, light hearted for me, anyways.  The first word of chapter 17 ('Halloween') is "Elliot".  As soon as I finished typing his name, I started to giggle and squeal with excitement. It's true what they say - absence does make the heart grow fonder.  It has been months since Elliot was in my mind, and now that I'm writing about him again, I remember how much I love him in all his angstiness.  I finished the opening section, which mostly featured Elliot, and am about to start on a section back in Class 15.  That means I'll be remembering what it is like to write Bobby, Will, Colin, Mona, and, of course, Nicky and Lara. I'm excited.  I expect to be giggling a lot very soon.  I just have to survive this last exam.

If 'Lullaby' wasn't bad enough, my unnamed fantasy novel series has been invading my mind like...something...invady...(insert your own George Bush joke here?). I don't think I've really talked about my unnamed fantasy novel series (to be known henceforth as UFNS) here, have I? In general, it is about a magical kingdom, the royal family, and the friendship between the youngest royal son and his manservant.  Basically, I was watching 'Merlin', squeeing over Merlin and Arthur,  and going "Awww, I want to write something bromantic about a prince and his manservant" and then...it...escalated. I can't say how exactly, because it will spoil stuff, and I want you all to read it someday.  I've made up gods and angels and religions and things just snowballed and...yeah.  It was originally supposed to be a nice little book about their misadventures together....but...um...I got ideas and...well...it won't be little anymore. It'll be a series of three or more books. The plot got really complicated, but in a way that excites me.  I have no idea how it is going to end. Basically, there's the king, the queen, their oldest son Jya, the son's arranged marriage fiance (so far, in my head, Jya and his fiance are made of awesome), the youngest and rebellious problem-child son Tass, Tass's personal manservant Yuev, and the servant girl that Yuev falls head over heals in love with.  Yuev was one of Jya's many servants, but he was "given" to Tass, who earned the right to a personal servant on his 16th birthday (or 17th - I haven't decided how old they are yet).  Yuev's main job is to try and keep Tass out of trouble, since his shenanigans actually threaten the peace of their nation. Yuev is completely and totally devoted to Tass, and together they work shit out. Civil war still threatens everything, though, so Tass now has to make peace and stuff.  He tries.  Shit goes down. Then there's this prophecy about how it is Tass's destiny to save the world, and prophecies, dictated by the gods and the angel of fate, ALWAYS come true. Yuev is constantly trying to help Tass, and they become bestest buds. Oh, and Yuev is an orphan of veeeeeeery mysterious origins, by the way. Then another prophecy is discovered, everyone goes nuts, Tass learns what he's supposed to do to save the world and is like "ALHJALKFGJALKJGSA???!!!!!" and shit REALLY goes down.  Basically, my nice little bromance story has escalated to the point where it is going to end with the gods and angels going to war.  Oops. I'll be experimenting with the concept of fate, souls, and soul-mates. Aren't you excited to find out how it ends? So am I...

I also have an idea for a nice little stand alone prequel book, taking place thousands of years before the series. It's about these teenagers who find an injured angel and try to nurse it back to health, and shit goes down. Shit going down seems to be a theme in these books, doesn't it?

Okay, enough procrastinating for me.  This has been one long mother of a post considering how much nothing I said.

exams, procrastination, ufns, television, lullaby, bromance, writing
