Taking a break from BSG fandom for at least a little while

I've decided to take a break from BSG fandom for a while.

When the show first came out, I just couldn't get enough of it, so I threw myself into fandom to get more of this amazing show. I spent hours and hours discussing topics on forums and reading fanfics.

But lately, it's been more of a chore than anything else to participate in fandom. I stopped going to BSG forums months ago and haven't missed it one bit, and even reading fanfics has been boring me lately. Even some fics that I'm pretty sure I would have really enjoyed a few months ago have felt like more of a chore than an enjoyment to read.

Why has this happened to me? Has this happened to anyone else as well?

Is it because even too much of a good thing is too much? Is it because the quality of the show has gone down somewhat in Season 2? Is it because the quality of discussion and fanfics in fandom has gone down as well?

I think I've also put my finger down on what I really don't like about the latter half of Season 2:
The show feels like it's unravelling, timeline-wise. One of the things that really drew me to it in Season 1 is that the episodes happened only a few days apart, so we really got to see the consequences of an episode's major plot point play out. But in the later half of Season 2, it's become more like typical TV shows where the plot of one episode is wrapped up at the end of the episode, then it might get referenced in later episodes, but we don't really get to see a complete resolution.
And then the 1-year time jump at the end of Season 2 really hit home this point for me.

It feels like the sense of time in the show is unravelling more and more and just spiralling out of control.
