For all those following along at home, RAMROD 2007 went off spectacularly. It was a bit longer than we had been thinking (150 km, 6h23m of riding, and about 8 hours start to finish), and I got a mystery flat at one point, but otherwise everything went right according to plan. The skies, though threatening in the early afternoon, only gave us the barest sprinkle of rain at one point, and then cleared out nicely. Even the bike path down Notre Dame, which for the past few years has been irritating beyond belief due to construction, went and got its act in shape and even had the lights timed sensibly for bikers. We also found a cafe in Ste Anne de Bellevue that's incredibly superior to the disorganized, mediocre restaurant we went to last year. This will have to become some sort of annual event.
And I don't think I've ever been quite so exhausted as I was after that ride. Just reaching the keyboard was an effort. I'm still a bit tired today, and I slept for 12 hours last night.
