Cupcake Hoopskirt of ... Nifty?
The good news is the hoopskirt is finished!
The bad news is the boning I bought for the hoops is too light and won't hold it's shape. Foo!
That's what I get for being cheap. I should have just bought some of this hoop boning to start with. It's only about $4 more than what I paid for the wimpy stuff. Oh, well.
What did work were my ghetto fabulous hoop connectors. I used a mold clip from a two part candle mold I bought long ago at Michaels. I cut it into pieces, slipped the ends of the boning into a piece and voilà. Here's a photo of what I mean by "mold clip":
It's the last costume thing I get to do for a while, so I wish it had worked out a little better. But, it's an easy fix so no worries.
