Review: E.O.S. New Adult Red Contact Lenses

Jul 14, 2011 15:45

When sakurae posted on Twitter that she was hosting a group order for circle lenses from Pinky Paradise I couldn't help myself and jumped in. I still have delusions of cosplay and even if the outfits never happen, I can still have fun with the goodies.

So here goes the review for the first pair, E.O.S. New Adult Red. While the Funky Eyes lenses were good they were a little bright and out there. I was hoping that the E.O.S lenses would be more convincing.

First, I must squee over the cases the company sent, because I am a dweeb like that.

Little yellow elephants and pink hippos! XD Or are they pink piggies? Who cares, they're adorable! Thanks to a coupon code that one of the members provided, Pinky Paradise sent these long for free. Hunt up those codes, people!

The color is not completely opaque and designed to blend with the natural eye color. I was worried that it would be another case of barely-there-itis and I'd end up with dark brown eyes. Fortunately, the color is dense enough to show up quite well.

Ah, florescent bathroom lighting. How unforgiving you are.

Here's a contrast shot that shows off the color change as others are likely to see it. Also, take note of the enlarging effect that circle lenses are so famous for. Me likey!

The same shot with different cropping. Whee, Myspace angle! Hey, it's flattering. ;)

I am quite pleased with my purchase. These are awesome, fairly comfortable lenses that despite being an unnatural color look really... natural. :) They are just what I was hoping for for red-eyed characters like Iria and Yuuko.

The only downside is that I do notice a distinct decrease in my distance vision when I wear these. It is not the lenses, though, because it happened with all four pairs that I own. No idea if it's the base curve or what, but it means no driving or other tasks that require sharp eyesight.

Now to decide which of Yuuko's many, many fabulous outfits I want to make! XD
