The Pleistocene extinction was, in part, caused by a 15 degree rise in temperature over a period of 10 000 years. Current convservative IPCC estimates, now shown to be woefully behind reality, predict a 6 degree rise in just one century, and continuing on past that to approach a 10 degree rise within another century.
