(no subject)
I spent a lovely afternoon in the shade of trees on a blanket in the grass reading "Treasure Island." I'm waiting for the library to notify me of some more books, so in the meantime, I'm rereading whatever I find at hand. I almost picked up one of the Twilight series, but didn't feel in the mood for a weak main character and outrageously bad decision making. I just finished Jane Austen's "Love and Friendship" a collection of letters between friends she wrote while still in her teens. The "letters" are a unique way to present a collection of short stories, all engaging and very humorous. I heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a quick read. I'm waiting for some YA fiction from the library, another Austen book ("Sandition and other stories"), "Angels and Demons," and maybe something else? I've forgotten.
Today was quite warm for me. In the low 90's. That temperature is only ok near large bodies of water; like the ocean. Here in Vancouver, it is not so good. I'm not enjoying the heat. The lovely blue sky and sunshine, yes, but no heat.

So, I've been watching A LOT of Penguins of Madagascar lately and yesterday I noticed that my inner-voice has taken on the syntax and persona of King Julian. I never really noticed what my inner voice sounded like before I realized King Julian was inside my head. It's really hard to stop talking like him once you start. Even in your brain. I need to change my inner voice back to me... not a crazy lemur.
