And I'd always wanted to see the east coast.

I rode at Zones yesterday, hoping to (and fairly certain I would) qualify to got to Nationals, i.e., place first or second in my class.

Well, that was shot all to hell.

I drew this crazy horse who ONLY went walk-jog. I thought it would be a dead-broke, slooow horse if it only went in a non-loping class. Boy, was I wrong. She had faulty brakes, to say the least. I am very proud of how I rode it, because it was probably the hardest horse I've ever ridden, but the dang thing kept wanting to take off, had serious issues leaving the herd when it came time to do our pattern, and broke into a lope at the very end of the pattern.

I placed fifth out of eight. I'm still trying to come to grips with not going to Nationals this year.

On top of that, since we're switching formats from IHSA to NCAA, I don't even know if there's a place for me on the team any more. I mean, the coaches are more than happy to have me there, but I don't know if I'll ever be good enough to show NCAA. I think they've outgrown me. Dammit, I don't want them to leave me behind.
