New goal in life
So today I called the Riverside Philharmonic Orchestra office asking if we could cover their event this coming Saturday. It seems like everyone that I talked to their couldn't care less about UCr covering one of their events. I asked for a media kit or some type of photo that we could use to accompany the article and the lady answered, "You want a press kit on top of the comp ticket?" Of course I do. What else killed me was the fact that she told me to call in earlier next time. I mean aren't we doing them a favor? It's free publicity.
So what's my new goal in life? To not become some old, cynical person that sounds like a dinosaur trying to cough up a kitten. Who did she think she worked for? The Hollywood Bowl?

Turns out she worked for Metallica. I guess the belittling was indeed necessary since she is involved with the greatest band of all time.
