For those of you who don't know.
Jane is the Calamity Jane. This particular Jane is from the HBO series
Deadwood.
Here is information about Deadwood Jane and
here is information about the Historical Jane.
FH Jane is currently about 25 years old. She might seem older then that to you, but you have to remember, a frontier life is not an easy one.
Deadwood the series starts in 1876. So FH Jane takes her background from history before that. I pulled her from around the end of Season 2.
Here's the only thing you really need to know about Jane.
She curses.
She curses a lot.
Believe it or not? I do try to tone it down a bit. Don't worry about asking me to lay off the language if it's getting to be a bit much. I totally understand.
Jane has taken over running All and Sundries from Blackadder. All and Sundries is kind of like Walmart. If you're looking for something, we probably have it. Unless it's very exotic, then we would have to special order it.
The supporting NPCs in the store are Slime Q. Slimedog, better known as
Apu, and Lizzy the robo security dog (who was a normal robo dog until she was upgraded by
heterodine. She's very friendly and blinks the little lightbulb on her tail instead of wagging it, but despite being happy and playful most of the time? She will get vicious if the store is attacked by trolls, or shoplifters. Lizzy makes no distinction.)
Apu is there for customers to mod if you're away, or if they just feel like it, or if you just feel like it. Everybody knows what I mean by "mod" right?
There is also, right now, a baby
Gelatinous Cube in a tank, usually behind the counter. Apu is rather attached to it for some reason. It's a little left over glob of a much larger one that came out of the squishy machine and tried to eat Connor. It's ability to absorb things have been seriously impared. If your character insists, the tank will be moved into the back room with Apu's shrine to
Ganesha Please do not offer Apu's god a peanut.
EMPLOYEES of A&S: Here's all you need to remember about posting.
1. The store needs to be posted in
fandomtownies2. Don't forget to add the "sundries" tag.
3. Please have fun with the squishy flavors. Try to always start with the flavor "Red", most of the time at least. If you have something in mind that doesn't involve "Red" that's fine.
4. Please always end the post with "All and Sundries is open"
Jane got the job at Caritas because it gave her access to open bottles of booze. She's actually somewhat sober now.
The support NPCs at Caritas are the Zombie band and Tino the bartender. Tino is moddable in the same way as Apu. The zombie band provides live music for karaoke. It is impossible to stump them.
Caritas has a sanctuary spell on it. Acts of violence will teleport one or more of the people involved to the alley out back. Jane will go out there and shoot your ass if you piss her off enough.
Jane lives in the TARDIS with
nine_and_ears and
actingreaper. Any questions about how traveling through time and space and living in the TARDIS effects Jane's thoughts, aura, or whatever should be directed to The Doctor. I don't fucking know.
She is otherwise a perfectly normal human woman who drinks waaaay to much from the 1870's. Her mind is more or less an open book. I try to keep that in mind when dealing with telepathic characters. If it's in the narration, and not struck out or ooc, feel free to pick up on it.
Yes, she has a seriously awkward and broken relationship with The Doctor. It's adorable isn't it?
Jane carries two pistols from her time with her. A
Navy Colt (The Model favored by Wild Bill Hickock) and a
Army Colt (Given to her by The Doctor). She also has a rifle which came with her when she arrived. I often describe it as a "Sharp's Big 50", a fifty caliber rifle with an octagonal barrel. This is neither historical nor canonical per sae. Historical Jane is often seen in pictures posing with a rifle and HBO Jane uses one, but there's no indication what kind it is. (Probably a Springfield.) I'm a big fan of the
Mad Amos books so... Jane uses the same rifle as he does.
