We don't have Pokemon in my world. We do have monsters- they're sort of similar, I guess, except those try to kill you instead of get along with you.

Most of them do. Some can be peaceful unless under extreme environments, but otherwise.....

Well.... I use a blunt weapon, so there is no slicing involved.

Not really. They're more like violent beasts. Your pokemon are nothing like them except for outer similarities and abilites.
