I never thought of myself as the kind of person who was desperate for love. Not romantic love, anyway. I know that I've always wanted a father figure in my life who could fill the void my dad left, but that's a completely different story for another day. In my romantic life, what I'm desperate for isn't so much love itself but the knowledge that my love is deep and real. I know that I got thrown when Orlando fell in love with someone else. It didn't change how he felt for me, but on the surface it appeared that something had diminished with us. I can't be in another relationship that ends up degrading into something that's only a shadow of what it once was. I suppose the simple answer is that I'm desperate for a love that doesn't fade.
