I don’t really think I could ask for more. I mean, what I have right now is amazing in the big picture. No one hurts me. Cady and me hardly ever fight and when we do she wins anyway cause I don’t argue very well. I don’t need to win anyway, I just need to feel safe. That’s the main thing.
I guess when it comes to what I want where Cady’s concerned (this is couples therapy), I want to become comfortable in my own skin. I want to be comfortable enough to face my past and know without a shadow of a doubt that when I come out of the other end in the present… that Cady will still be there. She will. Part of me knows that. I’m just kind of conditioned to be insecure.
Honestly, it’s easier to just ignore everything and pretend that it’s all okay. I’m a master of avoidance. And the alternative is scarier than any vampire or demon I’ve ever seen.
