300

I had the pleasure of catching "300" on opening night on Friday and I have to say, I was very impressed and satisfied in its transfer to the big screen from the classic Frank Miller comic.  After how well this movie and Sin City translated to blockbuster flicks, I wouldn't be surprised if more of Miller's work doesn't start getting greenlit from now on.  Just like the comic, this was not a high plot movie, but it was a real feast for the eyes and some of the scenes were frame for frame from the comic... so much that I caught myself gasping at seeing them being done up so properly... I was geeking out so much, I was very glad that my date was into the movie as well, but more from seeing all these ripped Spartans running around in leather underwear.

Speaking of ripped, the men in the flick were in peak condition... I don't swing that way, but even I had to admit these were some good looking men.  I'm officially calling it now, look for things like the "Spartan Diet" and the "Spartan Workout" to start making the rounds so people can get this cut look.

Anyway, I'm on break from what has been a fantastic Friday that rolled into a wonderful Saturday... I feel like I'm in my teens again considering the energy I'm finding lately... and it's nice to be with someone who really appreciates the company and the efforts... it's rarer than one would think, but some of you know that.

Family in town this weekend... my niece is getting bigger every time I see her, although, she's still got a set of crying lungs on her... it was teething last time, this time it's probably jet lag... poor little thing.  At least she recognized her Uncle Jeff right away though... melted my heart.

My dad did something tonight that makes we hesitate in introducing my recent date to him anytime soon.  She, rightfully so, it not a big fan of when people mimic her accent... yet, upon first mention of her heritage, he went right into his really bad Scottish accent... "Yeah dad, they love it when you do that..."  Good grief...
