Updates.

Too much to update and so little time. We had a bizarro day last Friday...a truck cab next to us went up in flames while we were in traffic and we had to make an illegal right turn to get away...then some creepy kid hit our car windshield with a water balloon nearly getting us into an accident. More weirdness happened at Culver's when I went to get a soda from the self-serve station and the ice cubes came out by themselves. We then went to Safari-Land to play video games and that is about it. Saturday we went to Volo Auto Museum to meet George Barris, the creator of Hollywood Star Cars, including the Munster Koach, Drag-U-La, the MonkeeMobile and the BatMobile. Mr. Barris was extremely nice and took pics with us after he autographed count_gregula's mini version of the Koach and Drag-U-La. There was also a cool machine called Draco the Draginator which breathed fire and "ate" cars, kind of neat to see full-sized automobiles get completely crushed and destroyed hehehe.

This Thursday, Greg and I went to see "Superman Returns" at the Norridge. It was pretty good, kind of rehashed stuffs that went on in the original movies but with a modernized point of view. The guy who played Superman was perfect for the part :). After the movie we went to the Horseshoe Casino and lost 16 dollars, but had an enjoyable meal at the buffet :). Yesterday we went cemetery walking, then a meal at Captain Nemo's of sub sammiches and soup. We drove up to Lincolnwood for their festival which featured the Beatles cover band American English. American English is great...the closest thing you will get to seeing the original Beatles in concert, they not only sound like them they look like them too. They do their show in 3 parts, the 1964-66 years, the Sgt. Pepper album and the Abbey Road music. Greg and I also played a bit of bingo and I ALMOST won but didn't, ah well.

After the fest we went to the Music Box to see "Eraserhead" at the midnite movie. It was a weird movie, but I might have enjoyed it more if I didn't recieve some sad news during it...which I will discuss in a friends-only post.

summer festivals, movies, bizarro days, concerts
