Seeing as how I'm brilliant, I forgot to buy tread for the shirt and I don't have any that would match. But I have pictures of what it should, possibly, maybe, hopefully look like. At least I think it will.
The ruffly bit below the yoke is supposed to be ruffly. I'm not entirely sure how, because I have crap luck with that kind of thing any other time I've tried it, but we shall see.
Also notice the way my obviously humongous boobs got in the way of the picture and I didn't notice. Fucking Simplicity sizing bullshit. *grumblegrumblegrumble*
Cutting out the pieces pretty well sucked, but I didn't have to resort to beer. Advil, yes. Waaaay too much soda, yes. The Entourage episodes on HBO On Demand really helped matters afterward though. Oh
crack_van. I do anything you tell me to, don't I?
And the afghan:
(Notice the Christmas stuff we missed when we were putting things away.)
This shows about the size of it, I think. I used the 5 1/2 Hour Throw pattern on Lion Brand's website, which takes three strands of worsted weight yarn held together, a V-stitch, and a Q-hook. It comes out really quickly, which is what I was going for because I stalled too long and I wanted it done to give to him the weekend after their anniversary. Dad likes it.
So does Shelby:
And I liked this one because her ears are funny. When they're hanging down like that, they pull at the skin around her eyes. Insta-face lift!
I like the afghan pattern, I like how fast it works up and how warm it is. I'm going to make one for my aunt who does a whole lot of stuff for us (probably in off-white), the cousins who let us stay with them when we had Mom's memorial (in red, white, and blue, because their house had that kind of theme), probably any of my good friends, probably my roommates. I'm going to get my $3.98 out of that Q-hook. What the hell else am I going to use it for? I don't think it looks bad at all. I think I'd make anything else just throw-sized and not a full afghan like I did for Dad's.
