Today I wore these slip ons I got in March, when winter was pretending to be over (fooled all of us, though--there's still snow on the ground from yesterday). I haven't really gotten a chance to wear them yet, except to Taco Tuesday when they did indeed give me blisters. So what did I do today? Wear them without Band-Aids.
My ankles are staging a mini-rebellion, because the fucking things popped and I only had the shoes on for an hour. Jesus. And also, ow. I walked home barefoot, which was actually really awesome. It was warm enough to walk home barefoot! That snow on the grass? Is weird. It's like indestructible!Snow
I went to the English office after I put on shoes that didn't gnaw my feet off at the ankles (aqua-blue flips--they're awesome) to ask how exactly I go about declaring a major. The secretary was listening to Gregorian chants, there were quotes about books making friends for you on the walls, and a gloriously geeky poster of Shakespeare.
I'm seeing a woman on Monday at 2, when I presume I'll get to declare English as my major. (Well, you never know--maybe they require that all wannabe English majors complete a vigorous mental triathlon before you get to declare.) But I think I'm going to love the English department. Score!
