I really should stop reading high fantasy...
I am fed the fuck up with this--I'm going to write a high fantasy series where the heroine IS NOT "more intuitive than most," so much so that she is like a *normal woman* who sometimes, sometimes doesn't even see the broad side of a house sitting right in front of her. She's not going to be good at reading people or even good WITH people and it will not be because she spent her childhood pretending to be a boy and in the company of only boys, so the way she is blind to other's feelings can be easily dismissed as not knowing how to be a woman (Alanna, I'm looking at you girl). And she will be ugly! She will be the ugliest woman on the PLANET and she will not feel like she needs a man to be happy because she can make HERSELF happy! Jesus, what a concept! Oh, oh and! And the man will not be good with a sword. In fact, he will be pretty much shitty with a sword and far better with people than my heroine.

I already made Jessica promise that she would buy my book in ten years when it's in the bookstore.
