Pandora is useless to me.
If I plug in something like the following - one of my current favorite songs - Pandora suggests the most useless adult contemporary crap. (Vid sorta NSFW - depends on your work, I guess - nudity but not anything explicit)
I'm always trying to track down things that have a similar feel to this song. Because in the nightclub of my mind, all the women are dark-haired, red lipped, curvaceous in jewel-toned evening dresses, and have the sardonic arched-eyebrow down pat. And all the men look vaguely like Bryan Ferry, with artfully mussed hair, slightly disheveled suits with bowties undone, and manage to make the reek of gin and desperation somehow sexy.
My nightclub is pretty but kinda dysfunctional. :\
Anyway, I do have a slowly growing playlist of songs that kind of have the same "feel" - minor key, retro-loungey (though some are a bit faster)... but it is only a handful of random songs. Suggestions always welcome.
I'm still on my quest for the perfect version of sway. Rosemary Clooney's version is too perky; and Julie London... well she tries for sexy, but just ends up sounding like someone's embarrassingly drunk aunt at a wedding reception who thinks she's still got it.
