Sunnydale High, circa 2002 - not a student anymore, but still stuck in that building. I'm not tutoring anyone or taking over a class or hanging out in the library. It's not a moment from the good old days. You know, why does everyone say that your years in high school are the best of your life? Oh, sure, it had its moments, but I lived at home and liked boys so not exactly a great time of personal life choices for Ms. Rosenberg! More importantly, I wasn't in high school during my moment of triumph - well, I take that back, sort of, since I was technically located in my high school, but nevermind.
Okay, so I happen to be located directly over a very open and very pissed off Hellmouth. Not presently, of course, but during my moment. Kennedy is with me, and there's a scythe between us. It's not one of -those- moment, but wow, kind of sounded like I was going to go there for a minute, huh? Anyway, Buffy, Faith, and the potentials are in the Hellmouth, fighting, but only two of them have Slayer strength. Well, had. I did something nifty.
That weapon had a lot of Slayer juju and from that, we came up with a plan to rewrite destiny and give it a much better ending, the Director's Cut. The spell I cast took all that was shoved into that mystical weapon and channeled it through me. Literally through me, all that good made me get all white-haired and glowy and kind of like Galadrial from the Lord of the Rings movie minus the freaky eyes and caffeine intake. I don't really get why they released extended versions of those movies. Xander likes them, naturally, but I'm not really into it. They all think that just because I'm quirky and have a laptop that I'm going to be a big dork fan like Xander. I'm getting off track, sorry. So, this was the most intense feeling I've ever felt before - the magical one, not the bad movie reference. All that power, shining through me... I even saw Tara, for a moment, and to know that she's up there, somewhere, watching me? Wow, that's neat. Kind of awkward for Kennedy, but neat, you know? That power was what all those girls would have gotten if they had been Chosen by whatever chain of command those old men in the desert picked out all those years ago. I made the choice for them... we made the choice. Made all the potentials into Slayers - girls everywhere got this chance to be stronger... to change the world if they wanted to. I gave them a chance at strength and agility and a power that they were destined to have, but might never have known. Yeah. I did that... we did that. It was pretty nifty.
