Dammit to hell it is soooo cold outside. It was literally 10 degrees below zero last night, without windchill. The road are clear, but for those of us who have to walk to class, all the snow has turned into ICE. Which is why there's probably a huge bruise on by butt right now because of course I slipped and fell while taking a shortcut to class through a frat houses' parking lot. I cannot wait until it's warm outside. Or at least 40-50 degreees.
In other news, I'm going to try to break the news that I want to go to Europe this summer to my parents this weekend. Going would require that I backpack through Europe which my parents are soooo afraid of. They're really overprotective, but I guess I can't blame them.
Anyways, my dad was thinking about taking me to India this summer for the first time since I was seven. I really want to go, but I know the heat will be ridiculous. But now that I'm taking this modern India class I want to learn even more about my culture. If I don't go now I won't be able to go for another two years, because the first two years of med school give you hardly any breaks. But my dad is a bad planner, so who knows if any of this will happen.
P.S. I don't know why it's so hard for other people to grasp, but Hinduism is a monotheistic, not polytheistic religion. Your gradeschool teachers who taught you about Hinduism tell you it's polytheistic because they don't know anything. Every Hindu "god" is just a manifestation of Brahma, somewhat like how Christians have their god in multiple forms (the trinity). They each symbolize a different aspect of life, etc. Sorry, but now that I'm taking this modern India class and I see all these people who don't understand it, it just annoys me.
