One of the authors that I beta read for and I were just talking and she said “Ah yes the evil of being a grown up.” To which I replied....
" Aaaccckkk bite your tongue. :shudder: Grown up. NO thank you! Adult yes, that I must be, but I will NEVER grow up and allow this world to suck all the fun, imagination and sense of wonder out of me. NO! Be gone foul concept. I will chase fairies and brake for unicorns, dragons, good men, and other mythical creatures. I will skip merrily down the byways of life and poke my nose into all kinds of inappropriate places. I will cheerfully dress up in my medieval garb and go to events and battle game because damn it, I may be an adult, but I still like to play dress up and let's pretend! And I may be a grandma but I kick ass at RPG's, and my grandbabies and kids think I am the coolest grandma on the planet. "
So I invite you, dear reader, to join me in throwing off the shackles of a grown up. Be an adult (responsible, etc.) when you must be. But NEVER ever grow up and join the ranks of the bitter, the disillusioned, the staid, the unimaginative, and the stuck in a rut.
Dare to play, to explore, to imagine and to see the wonder and splendor in the universe. Dare to love with every fiber of your being, to dance with all the glee and enthusiasm of a small child, to sing at the top of your lungs for the sheer joy of being alive. Go on… I double dog dare you.
