I'm home a little early from work today...I'm bloated and tired...Yet there are so many things I have to do tonight...make supper, wash the bathroom, clean the litter, take out the trash, take my shower, work on a transcript from work. I'm so tired I've already fixed 10 typos. 0_o I don't want to use sick hours because I already have too few and on Thursday I have a doctor's appointment which will take some away. Yay physicals...actually I don't mind those at all. However, my doctor is not as gentle as he used to be. Meh. I'm also going for a hair appointment that morning. (May as well, since I'll be in Casselman.) I'm cutting my hair. Yes. Cutting. C-u-t-t-i-n-g. *cries* I dunno how I'm going to react to having shorter hair. I know I'm going to feel bald. Stripped of my essence. (Rach, are you banging your head on the wall yet?) hehe... I don't know how many of these tasks I'll get done...there's always tomorrow you know! I think I'll give Loki's litter a priority though...poor guy :)
Anyway, yesterday was one of the most memorable nights of my life. It was Hawksley Workman's concert. Unbelievable. No opening acts! Yay! (I hate opening acts....why do artists punish their fans with opening acts?!?!?! Sarah Slean is the worst for that...and her shows are always running late. None of that with Hawksley though.) It was a very moody and romantic show to promote his new album, which is very slow and folky. It was just him (with classic guitar, electric guitar, banjo, xylophone, megaphone) and his pianist Mr. Lonely. They are so awesome together. At some point in the show he asked us to shout "Hey" over and over for a recording on his next album. We're gonna be on his next album....He loves Ottawa :) He played 5 of his new songs...all wonderful. Then he went into some really old stuff that I heard of but never got to listen to the song. I want them now. The very last song he played (2nd encore)was "We will still need a song", from his previous album. He sat at the edge of the stage, people all crowded around him. The crowd sang along as he played his banjo. *wipes tear* My favorites were his "big band" songs like Anger as Beauty, Striptease and Smoke Baby (the last 2 being encores) that he played a very mellow version of. Don't get me wrong...he didn't keep his voice all quiet...no, lots of bellowing was had. :) He's a great vocalist. He was very chatty during the concert, and the crowd chastized him everytime he apologized for talking to much....We loved hearing him talk and make an ass of himself....though I think I didn't need to know about his crush on our new governor general 0_o. Overall, this show exeeded my expectations!
