Earlier this summer, on
tietrip's recommendation, I went out to North Adams to join a few friends
to see Brian Joseph perform. I'd never heard of him before and didn't know what to expect. There were only about ten of us there, on the second floor of a church, and Brian Joseph captured us all. He knows how to work an audience, he's comfortable with any heckle, and he'll pull you in and make you feel comfortable too. He's got funny songs and serious songs, but he knows how to make the serious ones fun, and how to keep everyone's attention for all of them. To be honest, I don't really remember what I thought of his music... he was too distracting :) I just remember being interested and engaged for the entire show, and having a great time.
Brian Joseph and Susan Levine at
Club Passim in Harvard Square, Cambridge.
Wednesday, September 3rd, 8pm. $10, or $8 for Passim members.
All shows at Passim are all ages.
I will unfortunately have to miss this show, because it conflicts with
Dean meetup, 7pm the first Wednesday of each month. But if you're not interested in Dean, go see Brian Joseph :)
