Ah, so exciting!
I just got off the phone with the editor of WG, The Williamsburg-Greenpoint News & Arts. I'm going to write an article for their next issue about the Williamsburg dance scene, as a general overview. I'm so looking forward to checking out all of these venues that I've been telling myself to check out for months, and just being able to give dancers some well-deserved PR. Also, if I see any shows, I can waltz in and tell them I'm with the press.
I won't be getting paid, but whatever, I feel like it's worth it for the free dance performances and just being able to call myself a published journalist. Also, I'll be getting decent money from this costume design gig, so I think I'll be able to afford to take off work for about a week and focus on this.
I don't want to jinx myself, but I'm pretty excited about how things in life are turning out. So far, the "real world" fucking rocks.
