Genre: city lights and warm hugs

A/N: I blame cynicalism SO. HARD. For prompting me. Also this is dedicated to her, who declared she "fails at het lately" but managed to write a beautiful MassuKeiko fic in return 8D I also blame this diagram. With special thanks to snowqueenofhoth for pointing out a glaring obvs.

"What are we doing here, Takahisa?" Keiko hissed, trying to wrench her arm from Massu's vise-like grip unsuccessfully and inwardly cursing him for being so strong. And insistent. And a Johnny.

"You'll see," Massu said cheerfully, practically unmindful of the way Keiko twisted her arm this way and that to make him let go. "You'll like it."

She growled, finally stopping and slumping on one of the elevator walls; she could feel the eyes of some of the passengers on them. Keiko definitely didn't care for the unwanted attention, moreso for getting recognized while out in public. With a Johnny. She settled for digging her elbow into his side instead--not that it had much of an effect, they were both wearing thick coats.

"Honestly," she huffed, pulling up the scarf around her neck higher to cover the lower half of her face. "I don't know what we're doing here in Tokyo Tower. You probably have more body fat than me but I'll have you know that it's freezing up there." Actually, she knew he was more muscle than fat. She'd seen the photos, not that she would admit it to anyone. And really, she'd rather not think about his build. Especially when they're together. Like now. "And it's not like I haven't been here before. And there are a lot of people here tonight." Most of them couples, she noticed, feeling suddenly warm. It's because the elevator was packed, she told herself. And because of their thick clothing. Yes.

Massu shifted slightly, smiling down at her. Keiko hated how he was so much taller than her--how she had to tilt her head back just so she could see his face properly. "That's good, isn't it?" he said easily. "It's easy to get lost with lots of people around. No one would see us, ne."

Now Keiko was suddenly wary of not being seen. With Massu. It was like... Why did it sound like--like-- She didn't know, really. She looked away and tried to pull her arm away half-heartedly. "Will you let go of my arm? I'm not going anywhere, not that I could, and it's kind of starting to hurt."

"Oh. Sorry, Keiko-chan." Massu relinquished his hold on her arm and twined his fingers with hers in one smooth motion.

Keiko gaped at him, mouth open and ready to screech at him for holding her hand, unwanted attention be damned, when the elevator doors opened and everyone rushed out, pushing the two of them out as well.

As she suspected, it was freezing, though the people were all milling about as if it weren't, so she refused to say anything about it. She kept her mouth shut to prevent her teeth from chattering, kept her gloved palms flat on the glass windows. To prevent him from holding them again. "Look!" Massu said, pointing. "Isn't it pretty?"

The night was clear, and thousands, millions of the Tokyo city lights were twinkling below, brighter even the stars in the sky. Keiko looked, looked at them, then looked at Massu, his smile outshining any light or star. "P-Pretty, y-yeah," she agreed.

He grinned at her. "Cold?"

"No," she answered quickly, haughtily, but his arms were already going around her waist, his body warm against hers. "M-Masuda--!"

"I'm cold," he said simply, chin resting on one of her shoulders. She let out another exasperated huff, but relaxed against him, head leaning on the crook of his neck and shoulder as they watched the lights.
