Trevails of TV Watching

I'm facing something of a dilemma.

See, I'm in the middle of watching, like, four shows, one of which I've never seen before, but I keep going back to just one of them.

Right now, the main fight is between two shows: "Gilmore Girls" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

See, here's the thing: when I was sick and then recovering from surgery, I burned through my discs of the first four or five seasons of "Gilmore Girls." So much fun. I love it. But, well, the sixth season is harder, 'cause things keep going really badly for Lorelei, who is, I freely admit, my favorite character on the show. I'm about two-thirds of the way through season six, but I find it really hard to keep watching. Not because it's bad or anything, though; it's because there's some really rough times ahead for Lorelei, and I don't like to see her not happy. (Yes, I realize I'm talking about a fictional character; don't judge!) Of course, I know season seven ends on an upbeat, and that things do finally all fall into place, but... it's the getting there that's not so great. Well, enjoyable. Yes, there are good episodes in there, and plenty of other stuff happening, good stuff (one of my favorite scenes of Lorelei's is actually towards the end of season seven), but... like I said, I can't seem to bring myself to continue watching it.

Plus, I have the DVDs of the entire show, but this particular watch-through is the first time I've actually watched the show on DVD. I originally show the shows first-run, via syndication, or through other means (when the unnamed other means were the only way to catch up), so I feel like I should actually make use of the discs I bought.

So, here's "Buffy," which doesn't make me sad like about a season of "Gilmore Girls" does, being all shiny and relatively new to me (since I've only seen it the one time), distracting me from Lorelei (and Rory and everyone else, but mostly Lorelei). Add to that the fact that I'm being all Jossified here of late, what with Dr. Horrible (the official soundtrack came out today, and it's great; it sounds so much better than the bootleg I had *shock!*) and signing up at Whedonesque and all, and you have me jumping over to the Slayership!

And, all of the above is basically me blathering about how, even though it's sitting by the head of my bed, I'm not watching "Gilmore Girls" right now - 'cause you're keeping track, I'm sure - and instead watching some "Buffy" (after watching Nathan Fillion on the Late Late Show).

Yes, I really am this lame.
