Kidney stones suck. I got about two hours of sleep last night when I was awakened by what felt like a HIDEOUS cramp in my lower back from doing too much dancing last night. Then I noticed the feeling wouldn't go away. So, the awake roommate drove me over to St. Joseph's emergency room, where the doc very quickly figured out that I likely had a kidney stone. While I was signing the second round of paperwork, they brought me some anti-nausea medication and a couple of Percocet. A little later (thank god this happened a weekend morning, the ER was empty and I got whisked right through) I got to ride the CAT scan thingie, and indeed it's a kidney stone.
On the other hand, Vicodin makes everything better. I'm kind of worried about the anti-nausea medication they gave me though: One of the common side effects of it is nausea. The hell? Oh, while I'm at it, Target's pharmacy medicine bottles are fantastic. Everything is very clearly written, childproof caps are optional, and they even mark them with a ring of your favorite color so that you can instantly tell your prescriptions from those of someone else in your house.
