Independence from rain... well sort of. It only rained twice, and was nice in between. At this point, We called it close enough. Today looks to be even better.
B, C and I watched the sunset and fireworks in Wiscasset from Solitude Point (a rock formation West-ish of the house) The cats joined us for the waiting and disappeared before the booms. There was a Bald Eagle in a pine watching with us as well. How symbolic. Lots of bugs, of course. The moon even showed its face.
The fireworks were cool, being across the river (maybe a mile), were a bit small (but only a bit) and they echoed off the bridge, so we got a flash, wait 5 seconds, boom, wait 3 seconds, sharp echo of boom, then rumble echoes as the sound traveled up and down the river valley. They went on a little long for us who were mostly standing up, and getting bitten. And the finale definitely went on too long, as the smoke completely obscured the last half.
