stayed home sick today so decided to try a new recipe that was stewing in my brain. i think i will add a bit more hot sauce to it next time. give it more of a kick. but i like spicy hehe

i think my newest favourite FoodTV show is Chucks Day Off. Lots of simple, yet tasty ideas. the last couple i've tried have been awesome (the cream corn is devine). so when i saw this i knew i had to try it.

i couldn't find all the mushrooms i wanted to try (lobster mushroom?! MMM!), but the ones i used tasted just fine :D

these turned out wonderfully. the almond hint in the cake worked great for the base of a lemon bar. and the filling was tangy and sweet and lemon heaven.

all in all, a great cupcake for not being chocolate. ;D

We have German Chocolate Cake coffee pods at work and it got me to thinking... time to make cupcakes. This time black forest cupcakes! They got rave reviews, not just from the hubby, but from my coworkers who demanded more. ;D

(next weekend will be lemonbar cupcakes with a vanilla almond cupcake, filled with fresh made lemon curd)

made this for a couple friends (and the hubby of course hehe) last night and it was YUMMMMY!! the beans were savoury goodness. its 95% based off of a Jamie Oliver recipe. just added some more seasoning and herbs, and bacon - cuz really... its BACON ( Read more... )

tonight was a yummy pasta that was tossed together with some leftover chicken along with some amazing, fresh, brined feta. i also got to use a pepper from the pepper bundle i picked up at the Seattle Pike Place Market :D

i served it with some baguette that was sliced and sauteed in garlic butter.

So last weekend I decided to make some waffles. EGGNOG waffles. With EGGNOG syrup. Oh. My. God. I mean the waffles were good, but you could put the syrup on a rock and I'd eat it. It was like warm buttery eggnog goodness. Sweet, but not ridiculous sweet.
