This is just going to be a quickie of a post this morning while
Penny sleeps in. With
Maker Fair coming up this weekend, I haven't had much time at all to work on the shop, but there was one development that came up that I'd like to share. For the last few weeks there have been two "used" water heaters sitting in the corner of the parking lot. I asked around, found out who they belong to, and they are now mine to play with. So there we have it, we now have a new forge shell! I'm going to put in a little more work on the "Tree-house of Shame" as it is now being called by some around the shop, mostly to clear room on the shop floor, and then I'm going to dive head first into making the new forge! I'm hoping I have enough shell material to make two forges. The plan is to make the first one totally utilitarian and functional, then use it to make the second forge... one that is made with a more artistic aesthetic. So stay tuned boys and girls... and get ready for some more interesting projects and some hot metal!
