How - How Badgers Can Become Proud

Jul 30, 2011 21:53

Me and my friend lothlorien decided to celebrate something again by coming up with five prompts each for five different fandoms (so ten prompts total) and write a scene around that prompt. No word limit was set. You can find lothlorien's prompt answers at Twisting the Hellmouth.

Prompt: You don't fuck with badgers.

Disclaimer: I probably don’t own anything you recognise, I probably do own everything you don’t recognise and I’m not making any money from this.

Fandom: Harry Potter.

Pairing: None.

Rating: FR7.

Spoilers: No.

Summary: Asking “how” is what started it all. Two authors, five fandoms, ten prompts.

Story: How

Chapter: How Badgers Can Become Proud

Three House tables looked curiously at the fourth House table and even the professors were straining their necks to see what was going on.

At first sight nothing seemed out of the ordinary: the Badgers were handing out newspapers to each other and were talking amongst themselves about the articles in it. Nothing about that scene was strange-if it weren’t for the fact that the owls hadn’t come yet with the post, so there was no way that they could have gotten newspapers already.

Yet they did have them in hand and something sure had caught their attention. Usually the quietest House table in the Great Hall at meals, this time excited murmurs and surprised exclamations spread around like fire in dry woods.

Noticing that they were being watched closely by everyone else in the Great Hall, everyone at the Hufflepuff stood up and said as one, “Badgers are the most fearless!” With that, they all turned away from the intense scrutiny and went back to their dorm, leaving everyone else gaping behind them in stunned silence, frantically wondering where that had come from and what it meant precisely.

End of “How Badgers Can Become Proud”.

A/N: Reviews (constructive criticism or a simple well-done) are always welcomed while flames will be severely mocked by me and my friends. Just because you don’t like a story doesn’t give you the right to start flaming the authors. Simply click that back button and go read a story you do like.
