Soviet space battle station
--You should get a kick outta this one Sam. In the 1980's the Soviet Union was developing a secret laser space battle station to compete with Reagan's Star Wars program. On May 15, 1987 the laser battle station was launched, but after 460 seconds the laser battle station (named "Skif-DM") separated from the launcher only to crash into the Pacific shortly afterwards, its control system having failed. The laser device was not found on board, however. It had been replaced by a dummy of identical weight. As a side note the manufacturer apparently now makes prosthetic devices, among other things.
What has Martha Stewart been up to lately?
--Now we just need to get J-Lo and Jennifer Anniston in there. Now that's a good idea for a reality show. Take 15 famous female celebrities and lock them up in an Alabama State Pennitentary for, say, 3 months. See who breaks first.
