Plasmid powers. [That's enough of the truth.] Can't use them without EVE. [Which is also enough of the truth, as far as he's concerned, though he's sure he could substitute a hypo of the stuff with enough caffeine or a pack of smokes if he really needed to.]

EVE isn't a person, it's... It's this glowing blue stuff that comes in hypo needles. I don't really know how it works, but you have to inject it into yourself to use plasmids.

[Jack, how are you combining both his jobs at once?]

Yeah, I guess. [That doesn't make him feel better about it.] Either way, you can only use plasmids so many times before you need more EVE.
