More on the mysterious blizzard splash screen

It's pretty sad when a web site goes to the point of analyzing the .css file blizzard is using in an attempt to determine what the mysterious portal means. It reminds me a lot of the government conspiracy theorists you read about.
In other news, Ron Pardo (SVP of Game Design for Blizz) had this to say when asked about the Diablo 3 rumors earlier this week:
"So you want me to announce the game before our announcement?" he said. "No offense, but I think there's like 300 people here, and I'll be ripped apart by 8000 people there [at the Invitational] if I pre-announce it - but it's going to be really exciting. I think everybody here will be really excited about the announcement."
So it would appear some new game is being announced, but he was certainly evasive enough to keep the mystery up.
I truly hope that the impending announcement isn't related to the new WoW expansion. I mean, to stir up THIS MUCH rumor and conjecture and then have it just be a WoTLK beta announcement would be just wrong.
