wanting to help
Hey guys...well I'm watching Scarborough country and he is currently in New Orleans. Watching it is just heartbreaking. I'm sure we have all seen video clips and heard about the hurricane on the news but watching the footage is beyond moving. People out there are seriously in need and I feel desperate to find a way to help. I also cant help but wonder why it is that when something happens in any other country we are all up in arms to help..yet something happens here in our own backyard and you dont see the massive effort that you saw with the Tsunami for example. Not to mention you dont see any help from other countries. Where is England and our good buddy Tony Blair? Where are the French? Where's Canada, our neighbors? It's just amazing that we are in great need and nobody raises a finger to help us. Look whether you hate the U.S or you love it, this isnt about that. It's about people...people who have nothing. They havent eaten in 4 days! Where is everybody??? I dont know about you, but God I want to help. Unfortunately I dont know where to go. I mean yeah we can donate money but I have none. If I knew a place where I could take water and food I would take it. Is the red cross taking water? I dunno I havent heard anything. Why isnt UTEP doing anything? Didnt we do something for the Tsunami? I heard Hanks was having a drive for water and thats excellent but I want us to to do something. Right now I'm doing what I can...I got an email asking for clothes and other material like that for the kids from Tulane and Southern Miss. who are being moved from their school. I cleaned out my closet so yeah. But the people I wish I could reach somehow are the people out there in front of the Superdome...the people on the streets...the babies who havent had anything to eat in days...Man its just so heartbreaking. If you guys know anything about where I can help please let me know. I do want to help, I really do. So yeah let me know if you guys know anything. Thanks a lot take care everyone God Bless.
