So it may be 6am, but my body thinks it's 9 and it hates me and even though I haven't slept enough at all in the last couple of days (and I *know* whose fault that is), I'm wide awake.
And yes, I'm in California now at my cousins' house. We got in kind of late last night (my travels started at 8:30am Eastern time and ended at 10:00 Pacific, which is 1am Eastern..) and then I wrapped all of my presents, because airlines are just splendid these days, with the not being able to x-ray a wrapped present... They're not all that kind to us last-minute travelers.
But at least I now have something resembling the cuddles I've been missing... now I remember why I love sleeping on this couch. Sebastian is a wonderful cat, and my feet are toasty.
And my cousins got rid of the other cat, Spike, which is great. Sebastian is a splendid cat who is cuddly and soft and good-natured and sleeps on my feet. Spike was incredibly afraid of everything, and we never actually saw him. He left lots of presents, though, and for some reason he was incredibly drawn to the plaid linings of the sleeping bags we guests were using... we had to wash each of them at least three times during the week-and-a-half stay last year. So I'm glad he's gone.
I don't want to start reading the second book I brought with me (I read the first one on the plane yesterday) because I know I won't have time to finish it before we open presents and I get something else to read... but I don't want to lie here with nothing to do, either. So I'm wasting time online. Yay.
