assisted living

I don't know if I've been mentioning these things.

I take care of and live with a 90 year old man right now. I guess this will probably be temporary. Until his son wants to move out here in January. He wakes up at 8:00 am like clockwork and doesn't go to bed until 10:30 pm...like clockwork.

I've really never been so productive in all of my life. Too bad I'm being productive for someone else instead of myself. It hasn't been too bad, everything is just basically non stop, even before he wakes and after he goes to bed. If I'm lucky, I'm crawling into bed like a zombie at 11:30 pm and waking up at 7 (also like a zombie).

Anyway, things are alright. I'll have a couple of breaks here and there, so hopefully I won't get too burned out. His grandson is coming into town on Monday, so I'll have a week to myself, minus appointments that he'll have in which I'll have to show up for a few hours a day. Then, of course, next month Adrienne is coming to visit me for two weeks and The Old Man will be in Vegas during that time, visiting with family. That is probably to be the highlight of my year.

We went to the Chicago History Museum yesterday, which was pretty expensive, but also pretty awesome. The Chicago Riots exhibit was really small and kind of disappointing. They had an audio tour that came with the ticket, but it was really overdone and lame. Other than that, I was commanded to climb up on one of those really old school, GIANT bikes that people used to ride around in the beginning of the 20th century. That was REALLY neat.

We go to Einstein Bros Bagels, which is one of my insane-o indulgences because they have a lox and bagel breakfast. It's overpriced and I'm going to run out of money if I buy one every day.

There's lots to talk about with this whole situation, frustrations, elations, quotes, general activities, but I really have no time to get into it.
