"French Drawings: Clouet to Seurat", the catalogue from a 2006 exhibition at the British Museum. Lovely book. 100+ drawings with loads of notes on their history and artists and style. Fascinating stuff.
Elise Harris' book of poems - Little Circus -little poetry collection which was really refreshing. It's a long time since I've read poetry not by a long dead author, except some stuff I collected while I was at uni from rec.arts.poems (ah, the early internet...)
I've been reading a second novel by Christopher Brookmyre - action and a bit of a comedy and thriller, rough stuff at times but also very well done. This one's called "a big boy did it and ran away". Hard to put down.
Bought mum the catalogue for the RA Van Gogh exhibition. The reproductions are lovely (although lacking any oil paint glow) and the text looks interesting -hoping to borrow some time!
