Hmmm, good books.
  • "French Drawings: Clouet to Seurat", the catalogue from a 2006 exhibition at the British Museum. Lovely book. 100+ drawings with loads of notes on their history and artists and style. Fascinating stuff.
  • Elise Harris' book of poems - Little Circus -little poetry collection which was really refreshing. It's a long time since I've read poetry not by a long dead author, except some stuff I collected while I was at uni from rec.arts.poems (ah, the early internet...)
  • I've been reading a second novel by Christopher Brookmyre - action and a bit of a comedy and thriller, rough stuff at times but also very well done. This one's called "a big boy did it and ran away". Hard to put down.
  • Bought mum the catalogue for the RA Van Gogh exhibition. The reproductions are lovely (although lacking any oil paint glow) and the text looks interesting -hoping to borrow some time!
