Random Post Because I Have Nothing Else To Do
Last night I coerced Matt into watching one of my screeners for ImageOut (which didn't take too much work, since he's the one who convinced me to pick up this one in particular; a Chinese film called "Single Blog") and, well, they can't all be winners. What follows is, word for word, the review I posted to our uber-exclusive ImageOut Programmers Yahoo group:
Single Blog - Where do I even begin? Single Blog is a Chinese sex comedy about three friends; Kitty and her roommates Crying Girl and Slutty One. Between the terribly translated subtitles and the... ahem... difficulty telling characters apart (which wasn't helped by the fact that characters appear and disappear randomly and occasionally change their appearance) I had A LOT of trouble following the plot. This doesn't matter too much in the end, since the lack of gay characters was only surpassed by the lack of blogging. Crying Girl begins a lesbian relationship with her boss... we'll call her Boss Lady... and they had exactly four scenes together, which total, at absolute most, five minutes. By far my favorite character was the Ikea stuffed dragon which had a surprisingly lengthy supporting role in the film. Production values were decent, though.
