Happy Halloween From The Joker!

I don't know if any of you have been following the advertising campaign for the newest Batman movie, The Dark Knight, but if you haven't you should definitely start now. The site that's been getting all the attention is whysoserious.com. Up until recently the site has simply featured a carved jack o' lantern, complete with creepy flickering candle, with a bat for a mouth. The pumpkin is apparently straight out of the Batman graphic novel, The Long Halloween" and fans rejoiced at how cool it was that the filmmakers were referencing such an (apparently) beloved Batman storyline. But then an odd thing began to happen; as time went on, the candle started to melt and the pumpkin began to rot. Curiously, the rotting was only effecting one side of the pumpkin's face. Fans took this as a reference to Two-Face playing some major role in the film. But the candle continued to melt and burn out in what was evidentally a countdown to Halloween.

At midnight this morning the candle burned out, the pumpkin vanished, and a new site went up.

Now when you go to the site, you see a worktable with scraps of photos, pieces of tape, and an Exacto knife.

At the bottom of the screen you see the note that appears at the top of this post. If you click on any of the photo scraps you get CLUES pertaining to major cities across the country.

These clues give you locations within each city that you must travel to find specific object(s) which you must then photograph. It's a country-wide scavenger hunt! Starting on Halloween! How freakin' COOL is that? I can't wait until photos start coming in about what people find when they get to these specified places. I'm pretty sure this is the coolest marketing campaign I've ever seen.

::UPDATE:: So each location was a word or letter on it, and the letters fit together to form a message. This Wiki page has been uploading answers to the clues, as they come in.

::Update 2:: Wow that was fast... The Wiki page has posted the answer that's been making the message board rounds: "The Only Sensible Way To Live In This World Is Without Rules." And the updated site, with the letters that have been confirmed, seems to back that up.
