So I'm not sure how I feel about the finale of Bones.

Bones 6x23: The Change in the Game

Okay, well, I know how I feel about some of the finale. I LOVE KEVIN ALEJANDRO. AND HODGINS AND ANGELA AND LITTLE MICHAEL. The case was kinda funny, Wendell and Cam playing with the Angelatron was cute, and I automatically love anything relating to the Montenegro-Hodgins family (TJ THYNE I CANNOT HANDLE YOUR FACE).

That being said, I'm not sure how I feel about the ending.

On one hand: they did it! And they're having a baby!

On the other hand: talk about a cop-out.

I have issues with Hart Hanson. Mostly my issues revolve around the fact that most of the time I don't think he has a clue what he's doing. I think he just kinda bumbles through the season, making it up as he goes along, and then tries to defend it when it takes 100 episodes for his main characters to even acknowledge there is something between them. (Don't even get me started on Hodgins and Angela in season 4.) I don't want it to sound like I hate the show or anything; I'm not quite as in love with it as I was in, say, season 2 but I still love it and look forward to watching it every week. I just think Hart Hanson needs to own up to not having a clue what he's doing.

That being said, I think this finale is his way of overcompensating for drawing out Booth/Brennan for so long. Unfortunately, I think he failed. It's like he looked at all the criticism he's been getting [for years] and was like "You know what? You want them together? Fine! They're having a baby!"

But by doing that he's cheated us out of all the in-between stuff. In the 100th episode, Booth put all his cards on the table and Brennan said no. In that episode where Brennan over-identified with the victim, she said she thought she made a mistake when it came to the two of them. THAT'S ALL WE'VE GOTTEN. Now suddenly they're together and having a baby? Where's the declarations of love? The "oh my God we're in the same place at the same time" conversation/revelation? Where's the hot sex? (Yeah, I can't believe I just typed that either.)

To be perfectly honest, after last week's episode, I was one of the people who staunchly believed they did NOT have sex. She was hurting, he was comforting her. Despite Angela's surprise and Brennan's shy grin the next day, I really didn't think that Booth would have done it. Even if Brennan initiated it, Booth is the kind of guy that would say "Not now, not when you're so upset." I mean, shit, those two are so emotionally stunted, I have no problem believing Angela would have looked that stunned at them just cuddling.

I'm interested to see where this is going, how Hart will handle this, but I think in an effort to please the fans, he actually just cheated us out of stuff we wanted to see.

Wow, I'm so glad that Hodgins and Angela are my main ship on this show. It makes watching Bones so much easier and stress-free, lol.
