With a sad heart I have write that I had to put my cat to rest today (Jan. 7th).
Since the last checkup in last August she had started to loose weight (like my tom-cat) since the year before her last checkup. She wasn't eating enough, even if I tried different things. I would change the feed (chow?) and she would be eating better again. Till she didn't any longer. Before Christmas I went with her to the doc because she had diarrhea too, sadly the pills she got didn't help. But she was drinking water and the Vitaldrink I've got her and eating a bit.
The last week I noticed that she wasn't able to jumb as much as she did before. But on Sunday it was worse when she walked. I've tried a last time and went to the vet on Monday were she got a shot of cortisone. The the doc said I should think of to say farewell soon. It didn't help much, it seems to get worse on Monday evening so I knew it was time.
So I went to the vet today this morning for a last time. She's at peace now. The doc said it was feebleness of age / infirmity (of old age)? Not sure how you say it in englisch. Schwerer Fall von Altersschwäche, she 'was a very old woman' and was down to 2,70 kg. When I think of my day I wonder if she had some kind of cancer with that weightloss but it's not important now. Needless to say I didn't sleep well the last days.
I'll have her cremated and she'll find her resting place her brother Tigger in the garden under that big stone. It's quiet now in the house with my last cat gone now, too. Her brother died Oct. 2018.
