“What are you doing here?” Willow’s head jerks up. That Anya is standing over her, scanning the library. Her gaze flicks down to Willow. “Where’s the nicely-shaped boy?”
Willow sets her book down. “Is this a word puzzle? I’m good at those.”
“No. Just tell me the whereabouts of that human with nice arms who’s always here.”
“Xander?” Willow’s voice squeaks. “He went home. Why?”
“No reason.” Anya turns, glances back. “You’ll never find anything useful in that book. Try Borden’s Compendium. He knew what was what.”
Willow glares at the swinging door, sighs and drags the other book over.
