THE STORY

Picture this: a pool and a man so handsome. Picture his golden hair and his hidden blue eyes. Picture him floating peacefully with his eyes slightly pursed and his ears submerged. I don’t move. I just watch him with admiration.

“I love you, you know?” I whisper softly knowing that he only hears the slight shift in water ripples. “I just… I can’t be around you anymore… I don’t… I’d never forgive myself if I hurt you” I added as the familiar ominous feeling crept up my spine triggering the reoccurring thought of his eminent death.

I could see it play out so vividly. I’d fathom immeasurable strength and sink him long enough so that his limbs stop flailing and the water finds its peace once again. The thought would replay and I couldn’t stop myself. The decrease of bubbles exiting his nose and mouth, his blue eyes losing their sparkle, my hands gripping him by the neck…

I’d then let him float away; dead. I was then psychopathically calm as I gently submerged myself with my eyes closed listening to the music that the ripples created with the sway of his lifeless body.

As I open my eyes I am faced by the darkest of creatures, eyes piercing, a jaw dislocated and terrifying. I frantically leap out of what I thought was my love’s grave only to find myself in my bathtub screaming…

I had tried to kill myself again but failed. The face… That creature… He would never allow it.
