MERCURY

It would be nice to leave a merging of two bodies unaltered.
It would be nice to feel the beating echo of their heart in living harmony and descend from the glow of companionship untouched.
It's transfixing.
It's the churn of your belly, a thought on repeat, a scent, an instant explored by eyes wide shut.
If you do this again you will lie petrified: a soulless living creature.
A prisoner of pain with self-imposed shackles.
It would be nice to replace the ticking time bomb with a pebble or a treasure chest.
You're so beautiful and raw in your ways, while I'm as captivating as spilt mercury.
Why did I ever think myself able to live amongst permanently disassociated lovers?
We crave each other but repel that which uncertainty defines

It would be nice if words of gold didn't tarnish.
How great it would be if when the sun shines upon us, we grow in accordance.
Your touch the last; our passion the first of its kind!
You are what sad poems are made of: an illusion of what could be.
All you had to do was remember that you are able to complete me like the law of force and motion.
How silly it was to forget that after all we are simply a cluster of particles in constant inertia.
What choice do we have then, but to simplify the ornaments of our brain by breaking them down into insignificant pieces and blurring their value?

How about this?
Since I write to reestablish my power this is what I proclaim: my love is infinite, my pain dismal but I am a queen and as such should be treated in the noblest of ways.
It seems that you have forgotten my strength.
So be it!
It is still undeniably true that one has never won a game of chess by resigning.
Nor has power ever been subjugated by weakness and thus resurgence will break through the naively humanized petrification and it will blind you with every honest part of my being...

After all, I am spilt mercury.
